    Embassy’s commitment to increase the number of Indonesian students studying in the United States. Ambassador Marciel participated in the launch of a credit facility that will provide $5 million to support student loans for Indonesian students over the next 20 years, including those interested in studying in America.

    On October 3, 2011, U.S. Ambassador Scot Marciel launched a two-week photo and lecture series retrospective of 50 years since the establishment of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), including 50 years of partnership with Indonesia.  

  • U.S. and Indonesia Open $280 Million Banda Aceh Highway (09/30/11)

    On September 29, U.S. Ambassador Scot Marciel and Aceh Governor Irwandi Yusuf opened the Banda Aceh-Calang west coast highway, cutting a red ribbon at the Lambeso River Bridge to commemorate the event. The 150-km roadway, which cost $280 million and was built through U.S. and Indonesian cooperation.
